The Wamena incident occurred on February 23, 2023, starting with the issue of kidnapping an elementary school child in Sinakma, then the police arrested the suspect, maybe because the child's family did not accept that the police arrested the suspected perpetrator, resulting in a difference of opinion between the police and the exit. child who was allegedly kidnapped. (The Indonesian police detained the kidnapper, but were not given interviews with the people. The police refused interview between Papuan people and the kidnapper. In the end, there was resistance between the community and the police. This incident occurred near Sinakma, Jalan Wamena Habema. And then there was a sheet stone fight against the police. Because it was difficult to control, the security forces released tear gas many times.

The houses of non-Papuan residents were also burned, the burning continued until late in the afternoon. Indeed, the situation at that time was difficult to control. Even though pollution was the main barrier to controlling the situation at that time, when I watched from a close distance, the resistance occurred between the community and the Police and then assisted by members of the TNI, but it was also difficult to control.

In the incident today, February 23, 2023, 9 people died. OAP 7 people and 2 non-Papuan citizens injured approximately 17 people, the victims died from gunshot wounds, some were in the neck, some were in the chest, and some were in the back, of the 7 victims in question are being secured at Inside the body of the Wamena General Hospital.

Non-Papuan residents have suffered stab wounds to the neck, back and face, they have also been arrowed using bows, so that the arrows cannot be removed, and are being treated medically in the emergency room at the Wamena General Hospital.

About 17 Indigenous Papuans received gunshot wounds, some were hit in the back, some were hit in the calf, some were hit in the back, some were hit in the legs and arms, some were hit in the neck. someone got hit in the armpit. Some of the people who were hit by the decay were still lodged in their bodies.
